What this cartridge replaces

This SuppliesMax BRTTN-229XXLY is a yellow super high yield toner cartridge built as a compatible replacement for the Brother TN-229XXLY and TN-229VXLY. It is manufactured to OEM standards using new and recycled components in ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified facilities and is designed for 110V machines sold in the U.S.

Printers it fits and those it does not

The cartridge works with Brother HL-L3295CDW, HL-L8245CDW, MFC-L3780CDW and MFC-L8395CDW printers. It will not work in Brother HL-L3220CDW, HL-L3280CDW, HL-L3300CDW, HL-L3320CDW, MFC-L3720CDW or MFC-L3765CDW models. Buyers who own any of those excluded machines need a different cartridge.

Installing and common issues

Installation follows the normal toner replacement steps for the supported Brother colour laser printers. The cartridge yields up to 4000 pages at five percent coverage. A frequent problem is purchasing this part for one of the incompatible models listed above, which will prevent the printer from recognising the cartridge.

Which Brother printer models must I already own for this SuppliesMax BRTTN-229XXLY yellow cartridge to work?

It fits the HL-L3295CDW, HL-L8245CDW, MFC-L3780CDW and MFC-L8395CDW. It does not work in the HL-L3220CDW, HL-L3280CDW, HL-L3300CDW, HL-L3320CDW, MFC-L3720CDW or MFC-L3765CDW.

Can I keep using my older Brother HL-L3220CDW or MFC-L3720CDW with this toner?

No. The cartridge is explicitly listed as incompatible with the HL-L3220CDW, HL-L3280CDW, HL-L3300CDW, HL-L3320CDW, MFC-L3720CDW and MFC-L3765CDW.
