Compatible MICR Toner for HP LaserJet

This SuppliesMax cartridge replaces the HP CE505A-MICR with a compatible black toner formulated for magnetic ink character recognition. It fits HP LaserJet P2035, P2035N, P2050, P2055, P2055D, P2055DN and P2055X printers as well as Troy MICR 2035 and 2055 series devices. The cartridge is built to OEM specifications for bank-compliant check and barcode output. Installation is straightforward in supported 110V U.S. models.

Page yield and coverage rating

Rated yield is 2300 pages at 5% coverage, providing consistent output for high-volume cheque runs. Magnetic toner particles ensure sharp, machine-readable characters that meet banking standards. The formulation is engineered for reliable density and adhesion across the full rated life. No warm-up or calibration steps are required beyond normal printer routine.

Upgrade from standard non-MICR toner

Offices printing cheques or secure documents on standard black toner cannot meet bank clearing requirements. This cartridge adds the magnetic signature needed for MICR readers without changing hardware. It is not for users who only print general office documents and have no cheque-processing workflow. Buyers needing higher page counts per cartridge or colour output should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How do I install this CE505A-MICR cartridge in my HP LaserJet P2055, and what step do people often miss?

Open the front cover, remove the old cartridge, pull the sealing tape straight out from the new CE505A-MICR unit, then slide it in until it clicks. The step people miss is forgetting to pull the tape before inserting the cartridge.

What maintenance or replacement will this MICR toner need after I print the 2300 pages at 5% coverage?

After roughly 2300 pages at 5% coverage the cartridge is empty and must be replaced with a new CE505A-MICR unit; no separate drum or developer maintenance is required for this all-in-one design.

What limit appears first when I run long check-printing jobs on my Troy MICR 2055 with this toner?

The 2300-page yield at 5% coverage is the first limit you will reach during sustained check printing; the magnetic toner formulation itself does not degrade before the cartridge empties.
