What this cartridge replaces

This SuppliesMAX cartridge is a new aftermarket replacement for the Dell PY449J jumbo high-yield toner. It fits Dell 1720, 1720n and 1720DN laser printers and matches the listed OEM part numbers including 310-8708J, 310-8709J, MW559J and RP441J. The cartridge contains black toner only and comes in a single pack.

Who should buy it and who should not

It suits offices or home users who print high volumes on the compatible Dell models and want a lower-cost alternative to the original Dell cartridge. It is not for colour printing, not for printers outside the 1720 series, and not for applications that require MICR toner for cheque processing.

Yield and coverage limits

The cartridge is rated for 11000 pages at five percent coverage, giving long intervals between replacements for typical business documents. At higher coverage levels the usable page count drops proportionally, so heavy graphics or solid-fill pages will exhaust the toner sooner.

Questions about this item

What printer models does this PY449J cartridge fit?

This SuppliesMax cartridge is compatible with Dell 1720, 1720n and 1720DN laser printers. It also replaces a long list of OEM part numbers including PY449J, RP441J, 310-8708J, MW559J and many others.

Will it work alongside an original Dell starter cartridge still in the machine?

The cartridge is a direct replacement for the OEM PY449J and installs the same way. Remove the old cartridge, insert this one and the printer will recognise it normally.

How can I confirm the 11000-page yield is being achieved after I install it?

Print a supplies status page from the printer menu; it shows pages printed since installation. At 5% coverage you should approach 11000 pages before the toner-low warning appears.
