SuppliesMax HP CE505X-MICR Cartridge

This SuppliesMax HP CE505X-MICR cartridge is a magnetic toner replacement built for secure check and barcode printing. It fits HP LaserJet P2050 series and P2055 models as well as Troy MICR 2055 devices. The cartridge yields up to 6500 pages at 5% coverage for consistent high-volume output.

Upgrade from standard toner for MICR needs

Standard black toner cannot produce the magnetic characters banks require for cheque processing. This MICR cartridge replaces a regular CE505X when the printer must meet banking compliance standards. The jump is worth it only for users printing negotiable documents or barcodes that demand magnetic ink.

Simple drop-in install for 110V printers

Installation follows the normal cartridge swap procedure for supported 110V U.S.-based printers. The unit is engineered to OEM specifications for seamless fit. A common issue is attempting use in HP LaserJet P2035 series machines where this cartridge will not work.

Questions about this item

Will the CE505X-MICR cartridge fit my HP LaserJet P2055DN?

Yes, this cartridge is listed as compatible with the HP LaserJet P2055DN and the full P2055 series, plus the P2050 series and Troy MICR 2055 models. It does not work in the P2035 series.

What is the correct way to install this MICR toner, and what step do people often miss?

Remove the cartridge from its packaging, gently rock it side-to-side to distribute the magnetic toner evenly, pull the sealing tape straight out, then slide the cartridge into the printer until it clicks. Skipping the rocking step can cause light or streaky MICR lines on checks.

How many checks can I print before replacing this 6500-page cartridge?

The cartridge yields approximately 6500 pages at 5% coverage. Heavy check runs with dense MICR lines will reduce that figure, so plan to replace it when print quality fades or the printer signals low toner.
