Yellow toner for Okidata colour lasers

The SuppliesMax OKI45862814 cartridge replaces the original Okidata 45862814 yellow toner in MC-873 and MC-883 series printers. It is built for offices and home users who need reliable colour output without paying OEM prices. The cartridge is new and manufactured to OEM specifications using new and recycled components.

Thermals noise and power draw

As a toner cartridge this product has no moving parts, fans or electrical draw of its own; thermal and acoustic characteristics are determined entirely by the host printer. Power consumption and operating temperature therefore match the printer's normal specifications for 110V models sold in the U.S.

Replaces OEM 45862814 and 45862837

This cartridge directly substitutes Okidata part numbers 45862814 and 45862837 as well as Katun KAT53788U1. The jump is worthwhile when colour print volume justifies a 10000-page yield at five-percent coverage and the printer is a supported 110V unit. It is not for users needing MICR toner or printers outside the listed MC-873 and MC-883 compatibility.

Questions about this item

How do I install the SuppliesMax OKI45862814 cartridge and what step is commonly missed?

Open the front cover, pull out the old yellow cartridge, shake the new one gently five to six times, remove the protective seal, then slide it in until it clicks. The step most people skip is shaking the cartridge to distribute toner evenly.

What maintenance or replacement will this yellow toner need after the 10000 page yield is reached?

Once the cartridge reaches its approximate 10000 page yield at 5% coverage, the yellow toner must be replaced with a new cartridge. No separate drum or developer unit replacement is required for this toner-only unit.

What limit appears first during sustained high-volume printing with this cartridge?

The 10000 page yield at 5% coverage is the primary limit; after that the toner is exhausted and print quality will fade until the cartridge is replaced.
