Six-pack ribbon set for Westrex dot-matrix printers

This pack contains six black ink ribbons built as direct replacements for Westrex International part numbers 32418 and 32417. They fit the S400, S400G, S400T, S500 and Teleprinter series machines. The ribbons are manufactured to OEM dimensions so they seat correctly in the cartridge carriage without modification.

Dot-matrix impact printing limits speed and graphics

The ribbon works only with impact dot-matrix mechanisms that advance a continuous fabric loop across a print head. Throughput is constrained by the mechanical strike rate of the printer, not by the ribbon itself. Continuous-form or multi-part paper is required; single-sheet friction feed and high-resolution graphics modes are not supported by this technology.

Snap-in cartridge swap takes seconds

Each ribbon cartridge drops into the printer’s loading bay and locks with a single click — no tools, no tension adjustment. The most common error is inserting the cartridge upside-down, which prevents the drive gear from engaging and causes immediate feed jams. A second issue arises when the protective seal tab is not fully removed, leaving faint or missing characters on the first few pages.
