Compatible Drum Unit for Epson EPL-5500 Series

The SuppliesMAX S051029 drum unit is a remanufactured replacement built to OEM specifications for Epson EPL-5500, EPL-5500 Plus and EPL-5500W laser printers. It delivers crisp black output at a rated yield of 20000 pages measured at 5% coverage. The unit is designed for easy installation in supported 110V printers sold in the U.S.

Thermals Noise and Power in Normal Use

As a passive imaging component the drum unit generates no noise and draws no power of its own during printing. It operates within the thermal envelope of the host EPL-5500 series machines without adding measurable heat. Manufacturing in ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified facilities ensures consistent material quality for reliable everyday operation.

Behaviour Under Sustained Load

The drum is rated for 20000 pages at .05 coverage, a figure derived from continuous high-volume printing rather than short bursts. Quality components maintain consistent black density and clear contrast throughout the rated life. Using this compatible unit does not void the printer manufacturer warranty under U.S. law.

Questions about this item

How do I install the SuppliesMax S051029 drum unit in my EPL-5500, and what step is often missed?

Open the front cover, remove the old drum, unpack the new unit, gently rock it to distribute toner, remove the protective seal, slide it in until it clicks, then close the cover. The step often missed is rocking the unit before installing.

What maintenance or replacement will this drum unit need after its 20000-page yield?

Once the 20000-page yield at 5% coverage is reached, the entire drum unit must be replaced. No separate cleaning or component service is required during its rated life.

What limit appears first during sustained high-volume printing with this drum?

The 20000-page yield at 5% coverage is the first limit. Continuous heavy use will reach this rated life before any mechanical wear or thermal constraint becomes an issue.
