Vintage Supro Tone for Electric Guitar

The Supro 1822RTB Delta King 12 is a 15W tube combo amplifier built for players who want the sound that shaped early electric rock and the British Invasion. Its single-ended Class A 6L6 power amp and 12AX7 preamp deliver raw tonal character and touch sensitivity through a custom 12-inch DK12 speaker in a poplar cabinet.

Sustained Class A Tube Behaviour

The single-ended Class A design keeps the power tube conducting continuously, so the amplifier responds evenly during long passages without the compression shifts of push-pull circuits. Touch sensitivity remains consistent as the 6L6 delivers its full 15W into the DK12 speaker, preserving the dynamic relationship between picking attack and output.

15W 6L6 Power Decides Suitability

Fifteen watts of 6L6 tube power sets the headroom and volume ceiling for rehearsals, small venues and recording sessions. Players needing clean headroom at higher stage volumes or significantly more output will find this power level limiting. The 31.0000 kg weight also influences portability for frequent transport.

Questions about this item

How much heat does the 15W 6L6 tube power amp produce during long rehearsals?

The single-ended Class A 6L6 power stage runs warm by design; ensure ventilation around the poplar cabinet and expect typical tube-amp heat after extended use.

What guitar and cable are required to start playing through the 12-inch DK12 speaker?

Any electric guitar with a standard ¼-inch output and a regular instrument cable will drive the 12AX7 preamp and 6L6 power section.

Can I connect my vintage 1960s effects pedals to the front end of this 1822 Delta King 12?

Yes, the high-impedance 12AX7 preamp input accepts vintage pedals directly, preserving their original tone into the 15W 6L6 power amp.
