HDMI KVM Extender for 1080p 60 Hz

The suranus HDMI KVM extender sends 1080p video at 60 Hz over Cat5e or Cat6 cable. It includes USB support so a keyboard and mouse can control the source computer from up to 50 metres away. The device is compliant with HDMI 1.3 and works with Windows, Mac OS and Linux systems.

Passive cooling with external power

Only the transmitter requires a power adapter to operate, keeping the receiver unit unpowered and silent. No fans or active cooling are mentioned, so the units run without audible noise in normal use. Power draw is limited to the single adapter connected to the transmitter side.

Stable signal over long cable runs

Video and USB signals remain intact at the full 50 metre distance over Cat6 or 40 metres over Cat5e. The extender maintains lossless 1080p 60 Hz transmission without degradation during sustained operation. No thermal throttling or signal drop-out is described for continuous use.

Questions about this item

How do I install the suranus HDMI KVM Extender and what step is often missed?

Connect the transmitter to the source via HDMI and USB, link transmitter and receiver with Cat5e or Cat6 cable up to 40 or 50 metres, plug the receiver into the remote display and USB peripherals, then power the transmitter with its adapter; the step often missed is powering the transmitter before expecting video.

What maintenance or replacement will the suranus HDMI KVM Extender need later?

The extender has no user-serviceable parts; maintenance is limited to checking that Cat5e or Cat6 cables remain firmly seated and undamaged, and replacing the transmitter power adapter if it fails.

What limit appears first during sustained use of the suranus HDMI KVM Extender?

The first limit is the cable distance — 50 metres over Cat6 or 40 metres over Cat5e — beyond which 1080p 60 Hz video compliant with HDMI 1.3 cannot be guaranteed.
