A USB 3.0 switch selector lets two computers share four peripherals with one-button switching and LED indication
This USB 3.0 KVM switch lets two computers share four USB 3.0 devices with a single button press. It eliminates the need to unplug cables or configure network sharing software for printers, scanners, keyboards, mice, webcams or flash drives. The unit is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and requires no drivers for Windows, Mac OS, Linux or Chrome OS.
The switch draws power from the connected computers during normal use with low-power peripherals such as keyboards and mice. Green and blue LEDs indicate the active computer without creating glare in dark environments. A Micro USB power port is provided for connecting the included cable when high-power devices like external hard drives or SSDs require additional current for stable operation.
The package includes two USB cables to link the switch to both computers and one Micro USB cable for auxiliary power. These cables enable a functional connection between the host systems and shared peripherals straight out of the box. No software installation media or configuration utilities are supplied or required for any supported operating system.

Plug each computer into the two upstream ports using the supplied cables, connect up to four peripherals to the downstream ports, then press the button to toggle; the step users miss is attaching the micro-USB power cable when running high-draw devices such as external hard drives.
The unit has no user-serviceable parts; keep the vents clear of dust and replace only if the button or LED indicator fails after extended use.
The shared USB 3.0 uplink caps total throughput at 5 Gbps, so sustained transfers from several fast drives will hit that bandwidth ceiling before any thermal limit.
