Swift Green SGF-W71 2-Pack Refrigerator Filter

The Swift Green SGF-W71 two-pack supplies residential carbon-block filtration for compatible refrigerators. Each filter carries NSF/ANSI 42 and 53 certification and reduces chlorine taste, odour, VOCs, lead, cysts, mercury and asbestos at a .5 micron rating. The coconut-shell carbon media preserves beneficial minerals while delivering fast flow. Two filters cover up to a full year of typical use.

Replaces OEM filters 4396841 4396710 EDR3RXD1

This pack replaces original equipment cartridges including 4396841, 4396710, EDR3RXD1 and EFF-6016A without tools or leaks. The jump is worth it when the current filter has reached the six-month mark, flow has slowed, or taste and odour have returned. It also suits owners who want a lower-cost alternative to branded cartridges while keeping the same certifications and contaminant reduction list.

Verify refrigerator model accepts the listed part

Before ordering, confirm the refrigerator accepts one of the listed part numbers: 4396841, 4396710, EDR3RXD1 or EFF-6016A. The filter uses a standard push-in design that requires no tools, but fitment depends on the appliance manufacturer’s housing. Households needing a different micron rating, a non-carbon media or a filter certified to standards other than NSF/ANSI 42 and 53 should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Does the 0.5 micron carbon block fit the same housing as the original 4396841 filter?

Yes, the SGF-W71 is built to the same dimensions as part numbers 4396841, 4396710 and EDR3RXD1, so it seats in the existing refrigerator housing without adapters.

What is the installation step that most people skip when fitting the SGF-W71?

After twisting the new filter into place, run water through the dispenser for several minutes to flush carbon fines and reset the filter indicator light.

How often should each filter in the 2-pack be changed under typical household use?

Replace each cartridge every three to six months, or sooner if flow noticeably slows, to maintain NSF 42 and 53 contaminant reduction performance.
