Full-strip desktop stapler

The Swingline 74729 is a full-strip desktop stapler built with an all-metal, die-cast base for durability. It fastens up to 25 sheets of paper and opens fully for tacking flyers or posters. An inner rail and positive locking latch work together to prevent staple jams and ensure precise placement. A contoured cap and padded rubber bottom add comfort during handheld use.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This stapler suits office workers who need a reliable, jam-resistant tool for daily document binding and occasional tacking. The 210-staple capacity supports moderate volume without frequent reloading. Buyers who want higher sheet capacity for thick reports or a half-strip format for tight desk space should look elsewhere.

Staple size and capacity

The stapler uses 1/4-inch staples and holds a full strip of 210 staples at once. This combination determines how often you reload and whether the staples match your existing supply. Verify that 1/4-inch staples fit your filing requirements before purchasing.

Questions about this item

Which staples must I already have so the 74729 stapler will feed correctly?

The stapler uses Swingline S.F. 4 Premium Staples, 1/4" leg length, full-strip format.

Will the 747 Business stapler jam if I keep using older, worn staples in it?

Its inner rail and positive locking latch are designed to resist jams, but damaged or non-standard staples can still cause misfeeds.

How can I confirm the 74729 is working properly after I load a fresh strip?

Fire a test staple into 20–25 sheets; the legs should clinch flat and the next staple should advance without sticking.
