Jam-free desk stapler

The Swingline Optima 87800 is a desktop stapler built for consistent, jam-free operation from the first staple to the last. Its all-metal construction provides long-term reliability, while soft-grip materials improve comfort during repeated use. The mechanism is guaranteed to work without jams when paired with the specified premium staples. It handles 2 to 25 sheets of 20 lb paper per staple.

Users wanting comfort and capacity

This stapler suits offices or home workers who regularly fasten larger stacks and value a softer grip for high-volume tasks. The 25-sheet limit and desktop form factor mean it is not suited for heavy-duty binding jobs or mobile use where a compact handheld tool would be preferred.

Staple compatibility requirement

Guaranteed jam-free performance depends on using Swingline S.F. 4 Premium Staples (35450) or Optima Premium Staples (35556). Standard staples are not covered by the 100% performance guarantee and may cause misfeeds.

Questions about this item

What staple types does the Optima 87800 accept for its guaranteed jam-free operation?

The stapler is guaranteed jam-free when used with S.F. 4 Premium Staples (#35450) or Optima Premium Staples (#35556).

What are the physical dimensions and mounting requirements for the 87800 desktop stapler?

The unit is a desktop manual stapler with an ergonomic soft-grip design and durable all-metal construction; it requires no mounting and sits freely on a flat surface.

How do you load staples into the Swingline 87800, and what is the common mistake to avoid?

Load a full strip of S.F. 4 or Optima staples into the magazine; the common error is using non-recommended staples, which voids the jam-free guarantee.
