SKU CH-PRQE-2A3TJ

A 12 V hanging-frame fan cools north and south bridge chips in a 40×40×8 mm footprint

  • 12 V power for direct motherboard connection
  • 40 × 40 × 8 mm hanging frame fits tight GPU spaces
  • 4008 form factor targets north and south bridge cooling
  • New condition ensures full factory performance

North and South Bridge Cooling

This 40x40x8mm hanging frame fan operates at 12v to cool graphics card north and south bridge components. The 4008M12B ND1 model fits tight spaces where standard coolers cannot mount. It targets builders maintaining older VGA cards or small-form-factor systems with limited clearance.

Replacing stock heatsink fans

The hanging frame design upgrades from fixed-mount coolers that block adjacent slots or memory modules. The jump is worth it when the original fan fails or runs loud under load. Buyers who need PWM control or larger airflow volumes should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

What clearance does the 40x40x8mm hanging frame need to fit a north or south bridge heatsink?

The fan measures 40 mm square by 8 mm thick, so allow at least that footprint plus room for the hanging tabs to clear adjacent components.

How is the 12 V fan wired during installation and what mistake should be avoided?

Connect the two-wire lead to a 12 V header or Molex adapter, observing polarity; reversing the wires will prevent the motor from spinning.
