The Synology RS826RP+ is a 1U rackmount NAS powered by an AMD Ryzen V1500B quad-core processor running at 2.2 GHz with 4GB DDR4 RAM. It ships fully assembled with four 16TB Synology Plus drives providing 64TB raw capacity and two 400GB enterprise SSDs for 800GB cache. Four 1GbE RJ-45 ports support link aggregation and failover for business storage workloads.

This unit fits edge deployments, branch offices and remote business workloads that need hot-swappable 3.5-inch SATA drives or 2.5-inch SATA SSDs in a compact rackmount form factor. It is not for buyers who need more than four internal bays without adding an expansion unit, nor for environments requiring 10GbE or 25GbE connectivity without installing a PCIe adapter.

64TB raw with room to grow

The installed drives deliver 64TB raw storage and the 800GB SSD cache reduces latency for HDD arrays. One RX426 expansion unit can be added to reach eight bays and up to 192TB raw capacity using supported 24TB drives. A PCIe Gen3 slot allows future 10GbE, 25GbE or M.2 SSD adapters. Performance heads toward 2,000 MB/s sequential read and 1,300 MB/s write under tested configuration.
