Ultra-wide zoom for APS-C RF

The Tamron 11-20mm f/2.8 Di III-A RXD is a constant-aperture ultra-wide zoom built for Canon RF-mount APS-C mirrorless cameras. Its 11-20mm focal range delivers a 16.5-30mm full-frame equivalent view suited to landscape, architecture, interior, travel and astrophotography work. The lens ships in a bundle that adds a filter kit, a cleaning kit and a cap keeper alongside the standard hood and caps.

Mount and sensor format check

Confirm that the camera body uses the Canon RF mount and an APS-C sensor before ordering; the lens is not compatible with full-frame RF bodies or with EF-M mount cameras. No adapter is included, so the native RF connection is required. The 5.9-inch minimum focus distance allows close-up compositions, but the optical design is fixed for APS-C coverage only.

Constant f/2.8 under sustained use

The constant f/2.8 aperture maintains exposure across the zoom range during extended video recording or long exposure sequences. The RXD stepping motor provides quiet, continuous autofocus without the hunting that can appear in single-burst stills shooting. Weather-resistant seals and BBAR-G2 coating protect optical performance when the lens is used for prolonged periods in variable outdoor conditions.

Questions about this item

Does the bundle include filters and a cleaning kit, or just the lens and caps?

The bundle adds a lens filter kit, a 6TH AVE ELECTRONICS cleaning kit and a cap keeper to the lens, hood, front cap and rear cap.

Which focal-length figure should I use for framing — the 11-20 mm on the barrel or the 16.5-30 mm equivalent?

Use 11-20 mm on the camera; 16.5-30 mm is the full-frame equivalent angle of view for comparison only.

How close can I focus at 11 mm and still keep the constant f/2.8 aperture?

Minimum focus distance is 5.9 inches at any zoom setting, and the aperture stays at f/2.8 throughout the range.
