Versatile 28-75mm zoom for Sony E-mount mirrorless

This constant f/2.8 zoom covers wide-angle to short-telephoto on full-frame and APS-C Sony mirrorless bodies. The bright aperture stays open across the range, giving consistent exposure for event, portrait and travel photographers who need one lens instead of several primes.

Constant f/2.8 aperture holds exposure from 28mm

At 28 mm the lens captures environmental portraits and interiors; at 75 mm it isolates subjects with shallow depth of field. The fixed aperture means shutter speed and ISO stay predictable while zooming, but the range stops at 75 mm so wildlife or sports shooters needing longer reach will need a second optic.

Compact build keeps weight low for all-day carry

The updated optical design uses two LD and two GM elements to control aberrations while the VXD linear motor focuses quickly and quietly. BBAR coating cuts flare in strong light, and the lightweight barrel balances well on mirrorless bodies, making extended handheld sessions comfortable without adding bulk.

Questions about this item

Will this 28-75mm f/2.8 lens cover the full frame of my Sony A7 series camera?

Yes, the lens is designed for full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras, so the image circle covers the entire sensor on A7 series bodies.

How can I verify the VXD autofocus is operating correctly after mounting the lens?

Switch to AF, half-press the shutter and listen for the quiet linear motor; the focus distance scale in the viewfinder should move smoothly and lock without hunting.

Does the box include a lens hood and protective filters, or must I buy them separately?

The lens ships with a petal-type hood and front and rear caps; protective filters are not included and must be purchased separately.
