Targus ACA974CAI USB-C adapter

The Targus ACA974CAI is a USB-C to dual USB-C adapter finished in white. It provides a single upstream port that splits into two downstream USB-C connections. The unit is aimed at users who need to attach two USB-C peripherals to one host port. It suits lightweight accessories such as mice, keyboards or flash drives rather than high-bandwidth devices.

Splitter capacity and limits

The adapter functions as a passive splitter sharing one upstream USB-C link across two ports. It comfortably handles low-throughput peripherals like input devices or storage sticks. It runs out of headroom when both ports are used for simultaneous high-speed data or video streams because the single upstream connection becomes the bottleneck.

Thermals noise and power draw

The adapter has no active cooling and produces no audible noise during operation. It draws a small amount of power from the host port to operate its internal switching logic. Passive components remain at ambient temperature under normal peripheral loads. No external power supply is required.

Questions about this item

Will this ACA974CAI adapter let me keep using my older USB-C peripherals while adding a second USB-C connection?

Yes, the adapter splits one USB-C port into two USB-C ports so existing peripherals stay connected while you add another device.

How can I confirm the ACA974CAI is working correctly after I plug it in?

Connect the adapter to your host port, attach a peripheral to each of the two USB-C outputs, and verify both devices are recognised and function normally.

What comes in the box with the Targus ACA974CAI and do I need any extra cables?

The package contains only the white USB-C to dual USB-C adapter; any additional USB-C cables required for your peripherals must be purchased separately.
