14.1" 4Vu Privacy Filter

The Targus ASF141USZ is a privacy filter built for 14.1" laptop screens. It uses microscopic vertical blinds to restrict the viewing angle to 30° from centre, so only the person sitting directly in front can read the display. An anti-reflective coating cuts glare and a blue-light filter helps reduce eye strain during long sessions.

Suits mobile professionals.

This filter suits anyone who works on confidential data in open offices, on trains or in cafés and needs onlookers to see only a dark screen. It is not for teams that regularly share their screen with colleagues seated to the side, because the 30° limit makes side viewing impossible without removing the filter.

Reusable adhesive strips and tab guides

The box includes clear silicon adhesive strips that bond directly to the LCD and tab guides that stick to the bezel, letting you slide the filter on and off in seconds. Both mounting options are reusable, so you can switch between glossy and matte finishes or move the filter to another 14.1" device without buying new supplies.

Questions about this item

Which 14.1" laptops with a 4:3 aspect ratio can use this filter?

The filter fits any 14.1" laptop display that has a 4:3 aspect ratio, matching the listed maximum support size and aspect ratio.

Does the anti-reflective coating change how the screen looks on older CCFL-backlit panels?

The anti-reflective coating reduces glare on any LCD surface, including older CCFL-backlit screens, without altering the native colour or brightness of the panel.

How can I confirm the 30° viewing restriction is active after installing the adhesive strips?

View the screen from the side; content should appear dark and unreadable beyond 30° off-centre while remaining clear when viewed straight on.
