Targus 16" Laptop Cooling Pad

The Targus AWE69US chill mat supports laptops up to 16 inches and measures 13.25" x 9.25" x 1.00". A single 140 mm fan draws power from a USB connection to circulate air beneath the device. The ventilated grill and low-profile plastic design create a stable surface for lap or desk use. Rubber pads keep the notebook from slipping during operation.

Check your laptop footprint and USB port

Verify the notebook fits within the 13.25" width and 9.25" depth before ordering. Ensure a spare USB Type-A port is available to power the fan without an adapter. The pad rests directly on your lap, so confirm you prefer a lap-based cooler rather than a rigid desktop stand. No software or driver installation is required for the fan to run.

Single fan thermals and quiet operation

The 140 mm fan moves air through the ventilated grill to dissipate heat during normal workloads. Low-profile construction keeps the unit thin at 1.00" while the single fan limits overall noise output. Power draw stays minimal because the fan runs from the laptop USB port. Rubber feet maintain airflow clearance between the pad and the notebook base.

Questions about this item

Does the box include everything needed to start cooling a 16-inch laptop, or must I buy a separate USB cable or power adapter?

The specs mention both 15-inch and 16-inch support — which limit should I use when choosing this model?

The published maximum is 15 inches, while the marketing line cites 16 inches; stay within the 15-inch figure for guaranteed fit.

What does the 140 mm fan size actually deliver when the pad is running on a desk?

A single 140 mm fan moves air through the ventilated grill, lowering surface temperature while the rubber pads keep the laptop steady.
