Universal USB-C dock for mobile professionals
The Targus DOCK116GLZ adds dual HDMI video, wired networking and four 10 Gbps USB ports through a single USB-C connection. Its stow-away host cable and rubber-padded base keep the unit stable and pocket-sized for travel. A bundled USB-A host adapter extends compatibility to legacy laptops without USB-C.
Thermals noise and power delivery
The dock passes up to 80 W of power from your charger to the host laptop while simultaneously driving peripherals. No active cooling is present, so operation remains silent under normal office workloads. Power draw scales with the attached devices and the host charging state.
Included adapter and DisplayLink driver
The supplied USB-A host adapter lets older systems use every port and video output without new cables. DisplayLink software handles video compression on the host CPU, enabling dual 2048 x 1152 or single 2560 x 1440 monitors over standard USB bandwidth. No extra drivers are needed beyond the DisplayLink installation.

Questions about this item
How do I install the dock and what step is often missed?
Connect the stow-away host cable to your laptop USB-C port, attach the USB-A adapter if your laptop lacks USB-C, install the DisplayLink driver, then plug monitors into the HDMI ports; the driver install is the step most people skip.
What maintenance or replacement will this dock need later?
The dock has no user-serviceable parts; keep the rubber-padded bottom clean for grip, check the stow-away cable and USB-A adapter for wear, and update the DisplayLink driver when you update your OS.
What limit appears first during sustained heavy use?
Video tops out at single 2K 2560 x 1440 or dual 2048 x 1152, data ports run at 10 Gbps, and power pass-through is capped at 80 W, so the 80 W charging ceiling is usually the first bottleneck.
