High-visibility orange poly tarp

This 18 x 24 high-visibility orange poly tarp weighs 3.3 ounces per square foot and measures 7-8 mil thick. It is waterproof and resists acid, tearing and mildew. UV treatment helps the material last longer in direct sunlight. Builders, landscapers and event crews use it to cover woodpiles, equipment or outdoor furniture.

Grommets spaced for tie-downs

Brass grommets sit every 36 inches and at each corner to give multiple anchor points. The spacing lets you secure the tarp with rope, bungee cords or straps without tearing the hem. Reinforced corners distribute load when the cover is pulled tight in wind.

Cut-size note for installation

The listed dimensions are cut size, so the finished tarp measures 6 inches or 3-5 percent shorter on each side. Allow for the shrinkage when planning coverage or the tarp will not reach the intended tie-down points. Heavy wind can still rip grommets if the tarp is stretched too tight.

Questions about this item

How often should the UV-treated polyethylene be checked for sun damage?

The UV treatment slows degradation, but polyethylene tarps used continuously in direct sunlight typically need replacement after one to two seasons when the fabric becomes brittle or tears easily.

What is the first limit reached when the tarp stays under constant tension?

Grommets spaced every 36 inches and at the corners concentrate pull forces; the eyelets or surrounding hem will tear out before the 3.3 oz fabric itself fails.

Does the orange tarp get hot enough to burn plants or damage covered items in full sun?

The dark orange surface absorbs solar heat and can become very warm to the touch, but it does not generate heat on its own; shade-sensitive items should have an air gap or reflective layer underneath.
