TASCAM TH-05 closed-back monitoring headphones

The TASCAM TH-05 are closed-back circumaural headphones built for accurate audio monitoring. They use 40mm neodymium drivers to reproduce a 15Hz-22kHz frequency response with a balanced, honest sound signature. The design focuses on isolation and comfort for extended sessions.

For studio tracking and critical listening

These headphones suit engineers and musicians who need minimal bleed during recording and a neutral reference for mixing decisions. The rotating earcups and lightweight manganese headband support long hours in the studio. Buyers who want wireless freedom, active noise cancellation or a fold-flat design for portable commuting should look elsewhere.

40mm neodymium drivers define the sound

The 40mm driver size sets the baseline for low-frequency extension and overall output capability in this model. This specification determines whether the headphones can reveal the detail required for your monitoring tasks. The closed-back enclosure and 180-degree earcup rotation complement the driver performance for isolation and fit.

Questions about this item

What type of audio source connector does the TH-05 require for monitoring?

The TH-05 terminates in a standard stereo mini plug that fits the headphone output on an audio interface, mixer, laptop or portable player.

Will the TH-05's 15 Hz to 22 kHz response reveal detail that older studio headphones might miss?

Its 40 mm neodymium drivers extend down to 15 Hz and up to 22 kHz, so low-end rumble and high-frequency transients come through more clearly than on many legacy models.

How can I confirm the closed-back isolation is working once I put them on?

With audio playing, ambient room noise should drop noticeably and very little sound should leak out when you cup your hands over the ear cups.
