8-Channel 5MP Lite DVR

The TAURKENAM 8CH 5MP Lite DVR records video from up to eight analogue HD-TVI cameras using H.265 and H.265+ compression. It is designed for home or small-business owners who want a wired surveillance system with remote viewing via the ZOSI Smart app. The recorder ships without a hard drive, so storage capacity is chosen by the installer.

H.265+ compression and storage headroom

H.265+ doubles the compression ratio compared with standard H.265, keeping high-quality video at a low bit-rate to maximise recording time on a given drive. Eight simultaneous 5MP Lite channels fill a drive faster than fewer cameras or lower resolutions, so very long retention periods will require a larger drive or scheduled recording instead of continuous capture.

Coaxial HD-TVI interface limits

The DVR uses coaxial HD-TVI connections, so cable runs are limited by signal attenuation rather than network bandwidth. Video is delivered at 1920 x 1080 resolution per camera, and the recorder does not support IP camera streams or higher-resolution analogue formats beyond the stated 5MP Lite input. Remote access depends on an internet connection to the unit.

Questions about this item

Will the 8-channel 5MP Lite DVR record video from my existing analog cameras?

The DVR uses HD-TVI technology and supports up to 8 channels at 5MP Lite resolution; check that your current cameras output a compatible HD-TVI signal.

How can I verify the 24 IR LEDs on each camera are providing the claimed 80ft night vision?

In total darkness the IR-CUT filter switches automatically and the 24 LEDs illuminate up to 80ft; view the live feed on the ZOSI Smart app to confirm image clarity at distance.

The system ships without a hard drive — what must I buy separately to start recording?

You need to install a 3.5-inch surveillance-grade hard drive inside the DVR; the package includes the 8-channel recorder, eight 1080P weatherproof cameras, and all required power adapters and cables.
