Indoor Outdoor Thermometer with 4.5 inch Display

The Taylor B0341TH-WH is a wireless weather station for home or patio use. It shows indoor and outdoor temperature plus humidity on a 4.5 inch backlit screen. One remote sensor is included and the base unit supports up to three sensors total. Battery power lets you place or hang the unit anywhere without a mains socket.

Battery Powered Operation with Auto Off Backlight

The display unit runs on two AAA batteries while the outdoor sensor uses two AA batteries; neither set is supplied. Fresh alkaline cells typically last four to six months depending on quality. Tapping the top button lights the backlight for 120 seconds before it switches off automatically to conserve energy.

Wireless Sensor Placement and Water Resistant Build

The outdoor sensor measures 1.41 by 3.9 by 0.78 inches and is water resistant, not waterproof, so it should be sheltered from direct rain. For reliable RF reception, mount it horizontally at 2 to 2.5 metres height with no more than one wall between sensor and display, and avoid metal fences that block the signal.

Questions about this item

How do I mount the outdoor sensor and what is the common mistake?

Mount the sensor horizontally at 2.5 metres height, avoid more than one wall between it and the display, and do not attach it to a metal fence because that cuts the RF range.

What batteries will need replacing and how often?

The display uses 2 AAA cells and the sensor uses 2 AA cells; fresh alkaline sets typically last four to six months before they need swapping.

How long does the backlight stay on before it shuts off?

The 4.5 inch display backlight turns itself off automatically after 120 seconds to save power.
