Indoor outdoor weather monitor

The Taylor BJ8284 is a wireless weather station that shows indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity on a 7.5 inch colour display. It includes one remote sensor and can connect up to three sensors across a 328 foot range. Atomic clock synchronisation keeps the time accurate without manual setting.

Home users wanting multi-room alerts

Families who need forecasts for the next 12 hours and custom alerts for a nursery, basement or greenhouse will find the station useful. Buyers who want internet connectivity or mobile app access should look elsewhere because the unit operates only through its own display and sensors.

7.5 inch colour display with adjustable backlight

The screen presents temperature, humidity, pressure, moon phase and forecast icons at a glance. Four backlight levels adapt to day or night viewing, and the backlight turns off after 10 seconds when running on batteries to conserve power.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box and do I need to buy extra sensors or a power adapter?

The package includes the main display unit and one wireless remote sensor. The station can connect up to three sensors total, so two more can be added separately. It runs on corded electric power; batteries for the display are not included and are only used for backup.

Should I choose the single-sensor kit or add more sensors for full coverage?

One sensor is included and covers a single outdoor or remote spot. If you want to monitor multiple rooms — such as a bedroom, nursery and garage — add up to two extra sensors, which pair wirelessly with the same base station.

How does the 7.5-inch color display perform in a real room — is it readable at night?

The 7.5-inch HD color screen shows indoor and outdoor temperature, humidity, forecast icons, pressure and moon phase. Four backlight levels are adjustable; on battery backup the light turns off after 10 seconds to save power.
