Indoor monitoring with Wi-Fi alerts

The Taylor 17017M digital thermometer and hygrometer measures indoor temperature and humidity while connecting to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi for remote access via the AcuRite NOW app. It suits anyone who needs to track conditions in a humidor, filament box or living space and wants push alerts and history logs on a phone. The integrated keyhole hanger allows simple wall mounting wherever power outlets are scarce.

Battery powered with momentary backlight

Three AAA batteries run the unit, so no mains wiring is required and placement stays flexible. A momentary backlight button provides night-time readability without constant glow. The operating range spans 14 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit with an accuracy of plus or minus 2 degrees Fahrenheit, matching the specified measurement envelope.

Upgrade from standalone analog gauges

Replacing a basic dial thermometer or hygrometer adds wireless logging, customizable alerts and automatic clock synchronisation through the app. The jump is worth it when you need trend data every five minutes or remote warnings while away. Buyers who require wired Ethernet, Bluetooth or multi-room sensor networks will not find those features here.

Questions about this item

How do I mount the 17017M on the wall?

Use the integrated keyhole hanger on the back; drive a screw into the wall, align the keyhole slot, and slide the unit down — the step people miss is checking that the screw head sits flush so the monitor does not tilt.

What ongoing power will the 17017M need?

It runs on three AAA batteries (not included); replace them when the display dims or readings become erratic — no other consumable parts are required.

What limits the 17017M during continuous monitoring?

The operating range stops at 14 °F and 140 °F; if the ambient temperature goes outside that window the sensor cannot report accurately.
