What it is

The Taylor TP357 is a digital hygrometer and thermometer that measures indoor temperature from 32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit and humidity with ±1 degree and ±2% accuracy. It connects to a smartphone app via Bluetooth with a 260 foot range and stores up to one year of historic data for trend analysis.

Installation and pitfalls

The unit weighs 35 grams and measures 14.33in W x 12.83in H x 9.06in D, so it can be placed on a surface or mounted on a wall. Alkaline batteries are included. The Bluetooth range of 260 feet assumes no obstructions; walls and floors will reduce the effective distance and may cause dropped connections.

Deciding specification

The single specification that decides fit is the 260 foot Bluetooth range under open-air conditions. If the monitoring location is farther from the phone or separated by multiple walls, the link may be unreliable and the smart alerts and data graphs will not function. Buyers who need wired logging, local display only, or longer-range wireless protocols should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the Taylor TP357 is reading correctly after pairing it with the ThermoPro Sensor app?

The LCD shows face icons for DRY, COMFORT or WET air, and the app pushes a notification the moment temperature or humidity leaves your set range; readings refresh every 10 seconds with ±1 °F/°C and ±2 % accuracy.

What comes in the box with the TP357 and what must I supply myself?

The unit includes the thermometer body and batteries; no extra sensors, mounts or cables are listed, so everything needed for basic operation is already inside the package.

Should I choose the TP357 over another model for whole-home coverage?

The TP357 delivers a 260 ft / 80 m Bluetooth range with no obstructions, stores up to 1 year of data graphs in the app, and weighs only 35 g at 14.33 × 12.83 × 9.06 in, making it suited for full-home monitoring.
