Digital hygrometer for indoor monitoring

The Taylor TP49 measures temperature and humidity in living spaces, greenhouses, instrument rooms or cellars. It suits anyone who wants a quick comfort check without a complex weather station. Buyers needing data logging, wireless alerts or multi-room synchronisation will not find those functions here.

Thermals noise and power draw

The unit runs on a single AAA battery that lasts 18 to 24 months in normal use. No fan or active cooling is present, so operation is completely silent. Power consumption is negligible and the device adds no perceptible heat to the measured environment.

Bundled accessories and software

A tabletop stand, magnetic back and hanging mount are included, giving three placement options on any surface. The comfort-level face icon changes between dry, comfort and wet zones to guide humidifier or dehumidifier adjustments. No app, calibration tool or additional software is supplied.

Questions about this item

How do I set up the Taylor TP49 and which mounting step is often missed?

Choose tabletop stand, magnetic back or hanging mount; the magnetic option needs a ferrous surface and the hanging slot requires a screw or nail — both are skipped when users default to the stand.

What maintenance will the TP49 need and when?

Replace the single AAA battery every 18 to 24 months; the compartment opens without tools so the swap takes seconds.

What is the first limit I hit if I leave the TP49 running continuously in a hot greenhouse?

The operating ceiling is 158 °F; beyond that the sensor stops reporting and the LCD may blank until the temperature falls back into range.
