TBC Arctic Claw Winter WXI Touring Tire

The TBC Arctic Claw Winter WXI is a studdable winter touring tire built for passenger vehicles including sedans, SUVs and CUVs. It carries a 225/50R17 size with a 94 load index and T speed rating for 118 mph capability. The asymmetric tread pattern and winter compound target dry, wet and snow grip.

4-Ply Rating and 17-Inch Rim Fitment

A 4-ply rating and SL load range support standard passenger-car loads while the 17-inch rim diameter matches common factory wheels. Black sidewalls give a neutral appearance and the tire is sold without a rim. Studdable design lets owners add metal studs where local regulations allow for extra ice traction.

11/32-Inch Tread Depth for Winter Grip

The moulded tread depth of 11/32 inch provides the biting edges needed for snow and slush evacuation. High-density siping shortens braking distances on cold pavement while the flat footprint maintains steady road contact for stable steering. Buyers needing a dedicated summer or all-season tire should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

What speed does the T-rated 225/50R17 tire cap at in practice?

The speed rating T limits this tyre to 118 mph maximum sustained speed.

What rim diameter and width does the 225/50R17 94T need to fit?

It requires a 17-inch diameter rim; the 225 mm section width and 50 aspect ratio determine the approved rim width range.

How are the studs installed in the pinned Arctic Claw Winter WXI, and what step is often missed?

A technician inserts metal studs into the pre-pinned holes; the step often missed is torquing each stud to the maker's spec so they seat fully.
