Lightning to USB-C adapter for iPhone 15 and later

This TechMatte adapter converts a Lightning cable to a USB-C male plug for charging and data sync. It supports iPhone 15 and 16 series, iPad Pro 11, iPad Air 4th and 5th generation, iPad mini 6th generation, iPad 2024, and USB-C Android phones including Pixel and Galaxy models. The aluminium alloy shell provides heat dissipation and each unit includes an anti-loss rubber holder.

Charging limited to 5V 1.7A

The adapter delivers a maximum of 5V 1.7A and does not support fast charging protocols above that level. It cannot be used for headphones, Square Reader, HDMI, Apple Pencil, or any On-The-Go functions such as CarPlay, keyboards, card readers, flash drives, gamepads, external drives, printers, microphones, or cameras. Data transfer works only with iPhone 15 and later or USB-C iPad and Android devices.

Plug-and-play with no drivers required

No additional drivers or installation are needed; data transmission activates once the adapter is connected. A prompt appears on the device, though some models take longer to recognise the connection, so avoid frequent unplugging. The compact design with included rubber holder makes it easy to carry, but the 5V 1.7A limit means it is not suitable for users who need higher charging currents or OTG peripheral support.

Questions about this item

Which adapter should I choose if I only need charging and basic data sync for my iPhone 15 or USB-C Android phone?

The TechMatte Lightning to USB-C adapter in grey supports charging up to 5V 1.7A and data sync for iPhone 15 series, iPhone 16 series, USB-C iPad models and USB-C Android phones. It does not support headphones, OTG accessories or audio devices.

What does the 5V 1.7A rating mean for everyday charging speed?

The adapter delivers a maximum of 5 volts at 1.7 amps, which provides standard-speed charging for compatible iPhone and Android devices. It will not trigger higher-wattage fast-charge modes that require more current or voltage.

What interface does the USB-C male plug use and what does it limit in practice?

The USB-C male connector works only with USB-C port iPads, USB-C Android phones and computers for charging and data sync. It cannot be used for headphones, CarPlay, keyboards, external drives or any other OTG peripherals.
