TeKit 10 ft Toslink Cable

This TeKit cable is a Toslink optical fiber link for digital audio signals. It connects two male terminals over a 10 ft run. The black jacket has an outside diameter of 2.2 mm. It carries S/PDIF streams between compatible source and receiver equipment.

Suits standard home-audio and pro-audio links

Use it with DVD, CD, MiniDisc, DAT, D/A converters, Dolby Digital and DTS surround receivers, pro audio cards or ADAT/DAW interfaces that have a square Toslink port. It will not work with equipment that only offers coaxial RCA, HDMI or analogue RCA audio connections.

10 ft length decides reach

The 10 ft / 9.84 ft length sets the maximum separation between the two Toslink ports. Measure the route before buying; a longer run needs a different cable and a shorter run leaves slack.

Questions about this item

How far will the 10 ft cable reach between my TV and soundbar?

At 10 ft the cable spans roughly three metres, enough for most living-room setups without excess slack.

What does the OD 2.2 figure tell me about the Toslink connection?

OD 2.2 is the 2.2 mm outer diameter of the fibre core; the square Toslink plug itself is a standard size that fits any S/PDIF optical port.

How much space do I need behind the device for the male plugs to sit?

Each male Toslink connector needs a few centimetres of straight clearance behind the port so the plug body and moulded strain relief sit without bending the fibre.
