Tri-band wireless card

The TeKit 17265NGW adds WiGig 802.11ad at 4.7Gbps and 802.11ac at 867Mbps plus Bluetooth 4.0 over an NGFF slot. It targets Alienware M17X and M18X R1-R3 owners who need the original tri-band module. The card supports Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit without bundled drivers.

Compatibility limits

Suits laptops with a factory NGFF slot wired for Intel 17265 signalling. Buyers whose machine lacks that exact slot or who need a newer Bluetooth revision should look elsewhere. Non-Alienware chassis are not covered by the supplier compatibility list.

NGFF interface requirement

The single deciding specification is the NGFF connector keyed for the Intel 17265. If the motherboard does not present that physical and electrical interface the card will not install or function.

Questions about this item

Which version of the TeKit 17265NGW card should I choose for my laptop?

The card is the single Intel Tri-Band Wireless-AC 17265NGW model with NGFF interface, WiGig 802.11ad, 802.11ac at 867 Mbps, and Bluetooth 4.0.

What does the 4.7 Gbps figure mean once the card is installed?

That is the peak PHY rate of the 802.11ad WiGig link; real-world throughput depends on distance, obstacles, and the router or dock you connect to.

What does the NGFF interface cap in practice?

The NGFF (M.2 2230) slot provides PCIe and USB lanes for the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 functions; bandwidth is limited by the 802.11ad and 802.11ac PHY rates, not the slot itself.
