What it does

This 20 cm silver Y splitter converts a single 3.5 mm headset plug into separate headphone and microphone connectors for a PC or laptop. It lets you use a combined headset with VOIP applications such as Skype or Google Voice on systems that have distinct audio and mic ports.

Check before ordering

Your computer must provide two 3.5 mm jacks, one for stereo output and one for microphone input. The splitter will not combine audio and mic onto a single combo port, so devices with only one 3.5 mm socket cannot use this adapter.

Build and daily use

The connectors sit inside an aluminium shell and the cable uses oxygen-free copper for reliable signal transfer. At 11.8 in the cord is short enough to avoid tangles in a laptop bag while still reaching both jacks on most notebooks.
