What this cable does and who needs it

The TeKit USB-C to 3.5 mm adapter connects wired headphones or a headset to phones that lack a built-in jack. It is made for owners of the listed Huawei, Xiaomi, Smartisan, nubia and Motorola models that route analogue audio through the USB-C port.

Practical limits of the USB-C audio interface

The adapter only works with the specific devices named in the compatibility list; other USB-C phones will not recognise it. It carries analogue signals, so no digital-to-analogue conversion happens inside the cable. The two-foot length keeps the plug close to the handset.

Installation and common issues

Plug the USB-C end into the phone and the 3.5 mm plug into the headphone cable — no driver or setting is required. The most frequent problem is trying the adapter on an unsupported model, which results in no sound or microphone function. Verify the exact handset model before purchase.
