Telemecanique Sensors XS4P18AB120 Inductive Proximity Sensor 18 mm

SKU CH-F655-5BKNJ

Unshielded 18 mm inductive sensor detects metal up to 8 mm with 12–24 VDC supply and NC output

  • Reliable detection up to 8 mm with unshielded inductive sensing
  • Operates on 12 to 24 VDC supply for flexible integration
  • IP67-rated PBT housing withstands dust and water ingress
  • Functions from -13 °F to 158 °F for harsh environments
  • 2 m pre-wired cable with 2-wire NC output simplifies wiring

Industrial detection sensor

The Telemecanique Sensors XS4P18AB120 is an 18 mm cylindrical inductive proximity sensor built for factory automation. It detects metal targets at distances up to 8 mm and provides a normally-closed two-wire output for simple integration into control circuits.

Verify supply voltage and wiring

Before ordering, confirm that your system provides a 12 to 24 VDC supply and can accept a two-wire NC output. The unshielded sensing face requires adequate clearance from surrounding metal to avoid false triggering.

Sealed for harsh environments

An IP67-rated PBT housing protects the electronics from dust and temporary immersion while operating between -13 and 158 degrees F. The 500 Hz switching frequency and low current draw keep heat and electrical noise minimal during continuous duty.

Questions about this item

Does the 18 mm cylindrical sensor include the 2 m cable or must it be ordered separately?

The sensor is supplied with a 2 m cable attached; no separate cable purchase is required.

Should I choose the NC output version or is there an NO alternative in this range?

This model provides a normally closed 2-wire output; a normally open variant would carry a different part number.

What does the 8 mm detecting distance mean when the sensor is mounted on a metal bracket?

The 8 mm figure is the maximum sensing range on standard mild steel; an unshielded mount on a metal bracket will reduce the usable distance.
