The TENMARS ELECTRONICS YF-172 is a digital lux meter designed for electricians and technicians who need to verify illumination levels on site. It measures intensity in Lux or Foot-candle units across four ranges up to 50,000 Lux and 5,000 Foot-candle. The sensor connects via a 1.5M wire for remote readings.

Sustained Measurement Behaviour

Accuracy is rated at +/-3% when calibrated to a standard incandescent lamp at 2856 K and corrected for LED daylight spectrum. Other visible light sources are measured within +/-6%. The 3 1/2 digit LCD displays a maximum reading of 1999 with overload and low battery indications. Light source selection covers Tungsten/Daylight, Fluorescent and eight rating settings.

Build and Daily Use

The meter body measures 200x98x40mm while the sensor housing is 125x98x40mm, weighing 325g including battery. Both units share a red finish and 98mm width for consistent handling. The package excludes batteries, so users must supply their own before first use. Compliance follows JISC1609:1993 general A class specifications.
