What this antenna covers

The TerraWave Solutions rubber duck antenna operates across the 2400 to 2500 MHz band and provides 7 dBi gain. It is built for 2.4 GHz WLAN deployments where extended range and reliable signal coverage are required. The RPSMA male connector fits compatible access points, routers and wireless modules directly.

Thermals noise and power draw

As a passive antenna it draws no power and generates no heat or audible noise during operation. The flexible rubber duck housing is designed to withstand regular handling and environmental exposure without performance degradation. No active cooling or power budget is needed for this component.

What the connector and form factor change

The included RPSMA male plug enables a secure, tool-free connection to equipment with a matching RPSMA female jack. Its tilt and swivel base allows the antenna to be angled for optimal polarisation and clearance in tight mounting locations. The rugged rubberised exterior protects the radiating element from impact and vibration.

Questions about this item

How do I install the RPSMA Male connector on my access point, and what step is often missed?

Thread the RPSMA Male plug onto the access point's RPSMA jack by hand until snug; the step often missed is checking that the centre pin is straight before tightening.

What maintenance or replacement will this rubber duck antenna need over time?

Inspect the flexible radome for cracks or UV brittleness and verify the RPSMA threads remain clean; replace the antenna if the housing is damaged or gain drops noticeably.

At what point does the 7 dBi gain limit appear during sustained 2400-2500 MHz operation?

The 7 dBi gain is the fixed design limit; it does not degrade with continuous use as long as the antenna stays physically intact and correctly oriented.
