Digital loop-impedance and PSC tester measuring 20, 200 and 2000 Ω with 0.01 Ω resolution and 25 A test current at 230 V
The TES 1800A is a digital loop and prospective short-circuit tester built for 230 V, 50 Hz installations. It measures loop impedance across 20, 200 and 2000 ohm ranges with 0.01 ohm resolution on the lowest scale. A 25 A test current runs for 20 ms, and PSC readouts cover 200 A to 20 kA. The microprocessor-controlled unit includes a high-contrast 3-digit LCD and auto lock-out if the test resistor overheats.
This instrument suits electricians who need to verify loop impedance and prospective fault current on 230 V circuits to meet wiring regulations. It is not for engineers testing portable appliances, RCD trip times or three-phase industrial systems, and it does not store or log results for later download.
The key specification is the 0.01 ohm resolution on the 20 ohm loop impedance range, which determines whether the tester can discriminate low-impedance paths on final circuits. If your work requires that resolution, this model meets it; if you only need higher-range checks, a simpler meter may suffice.
