TetherPro Optima 10G USB-C Locking Extension Cable

This TetherPro Optima extension cable adds 16 feet (4.8 m) of reach to any USB-C tether setup. It uses a USB-C male to USB-C female connection and supports 10 Gbps data transfer. The Secure Lock housing clicks onto Optima Flexi-Connect tips and withstands up to 22 lbs (10 kg) of force. An orange indicator confirms the lock is engaged.

Sustained 10 Gbps transfer over long distance

Dual integrated TetherBoost Pro chipsets maintain the full 10 Gbps data rate across the 16-foot length, preventing the signal drop-off typical of passive cables at this distance. The rugged octagonal housing and polypropylene inner sleeve protect the conductors during repeated dragging across studio floors. The kink-proof exterior resists wear from carts, shoes and heavy on-set use.

Chaining limit and compatibility constraints

Multiple Optima 10G extensions can be chained to a maximum combined length of 63 feet (19.2 m) while preserving 10 Gbps performance. The Secure Lock mechanism only engages with TetherPro Optima cable tips; standard USB-C connectors will not lock. The cable is not a power delivery device and does not increase available bus power for connected cameras or peripherals.

Questions about this item

Does the cable get warm or draw extra power during all-day tethered shoots?

The extension adds dual integrated TetherBoost Pro chipsets to maintain 10Gbps over 16 ft, and it draws bus power from the host connection; no external supply is needed.

What must I already own for this locking extension to work?

You need a TetherPro Optima straight cable with Flexi-Connect tips; the Secure Lock housing slides onto that tip and clicks in place, confirmed by the orange indicator.

Will this 16 ft extension work reliably with my older USB-C tether cable?

It is compatible with all USB-C cables, but the locking mechanism only engages Optima Flexi-Connect tips; chained extensions reach up to 63 ft total while keeping 10Gbps speeds.
