Texas Instruments TI34MV 4-line 16-char Scientific Calculator

Classroom scientific calculator

The TI-34 MultiView is a scientific calculator built for middle-school math and science classes including Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Trigonometry, Geometry and General Science. Its four-line by 16-character LCD lets students view multiple calculations at once, compare results and explore patterns on a single screen. MathPrint mode shows stacked fractions, exponents and exact square roots in familiar textbook notation. A toggle key switches between fraction and decimal forms instantly.

Four-line display capacity and headroom

The 4-line × 16-character display handles several stacked fractions, multi-step expressions and x,y table values simultaneously, reducing the need to erase and re-enter work. Complex multi-line problems fit comfortably, but very long algebraic derivations or programs that exceed four visible lines will require scrolling. Seven memory variables store intermediate results for later recall. The integer division key and simplify function speed up fraction work without overflow.

Battery and solar power limits

The unit runs on a primary battery with a solar cell that extends battery life under normal classroom lighting; it does not operate on solar power alone. Auto Power Off shuts the calculator down after a period of inactivity to preserve charge. An impact-resistant cover with a quick-reference card protects the keyboard and display during transport. Hard plastic colour-coded keys and non-skid rubber feet keep the calculator stable on desks.
