Adds dual-band Wi-Fi 5 at up to 1200 Mbps via USB 3.0 with two adjustable high-gain antennas
The Perfect Part AC1200 is a USB 3.0 wireless adapter that adds WiFi 5 connectivity to a desktop or laptop. It targets users who need faster wireless speeds than built-in 2.4 GHz radios provide and who have a free USB 3.0 port. Buyers who require internal PCIe installation or Bluetooth capability should look elsewhere.
The adapter delivers a combined wireless data rate of 1200 Mbps split between 5 GHz at 867 Mbps and 2.4 GHz at 400 Mbps. It connects through a USB 3.0 interface that runs up to 5 Gbps and remains backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 ports. The RTL8814 chipset handles 802.11 ac/a/b/g/n standards with WPA/WPA2 security.
The compact black enclosure measures 81.5 mm by 40.5 mm by 14.5 mm and draws power directly from the USB bus without an external supply. Two detachable high-gain omnidirectional antennas rotate 180 degrees to optimise signal reception. Passive cooling keeps the unit silent during normal operation.

The adapter splits the 1200 Mbps rating into 867 Mbps on the 5 GHz band and 400 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band, so the speed you see depends on which frequency your router uses.
The USB 3.0 link runs at up to 5 Gbps, well above the adapter's 867 Mbps peak on 5 GHz, so the wireless side remains the bottleneck, not the USB bus.
The main body measures 81.5 mm by 40.5 mm by 14.5 mm, and each dual-frequency antenna can be rotated through 180° to clear nearby ports or obstacles.
