Platinum 1/0 AWG ring terminals for car audio

This pair of platinum-plated 1/0 AWG ring terminals from The Wires Zone is designed for high-current car audio power wiring. They provide a secure connection point for amplifiers, distribution blocks or battery posts in a vehicle electrical system.

Check cable gauge and stud size before ordering

Verify that your power wire is true 1/0 AWG so the barrel accepts the conductor without gaps. Confirm the ring’s inner diameter matches the bolt or terminal stud you will fasten it to, and ensure you have a suitable heavy-duty crimper for a gas-tight connection.

Low resistance reduces heat under load

Platinum plating minimises surface oxidation, keeping contact resistance low during sustained current flow. The terminals add negligible thermal load to the circuit and operate silently because they contain no moving parts or active cooling.

Questions about this item

Does the pair include any crimp tool, heat-shrink tubing or mounting hardware, or must those be purchased separately?

The package contains only the two platinum-plated 1/0 AWG ring terminals; crimp tools, heat-shrink and mounting bolts are not included.

Should I choose these 1/0 AWG terminals or a smaller gauge for a 4 AWG amplifier power wire?

These terminals are sized for 1/0 AWG cable only; using them on 4 AWG wire would leave a loose crimp, so select terminals matched to your actual wire gauge.

What does the platinum plating do for the connection once it is crimped in the vehicle?

Platinum plating resists corrosion and oxidation, maintaining low contact resistance over time in the harsh under-hood and trunk environments typical of car audio installs.
