Amplifier power cable is sized by gauge, and a lower AWG number means thicker wire. Pick the gauge from the amplifier's current draw and the length of the run: a long cable or a powerful amplifier needs thicker wire to limit voltage drop and heat. The listings span 4, 8 and 12 gauge, plus thin 18 AWG wire suited to remote turn-on and other low-current runs. Check the conductor as well. Copper-clad aluminum (CCA) is lighter and cheaper, but it carries less current than oxygen-free copper (OFC) of the same gauge, so CCA is usually chosen one size thicker.
The fuse protects the cable, not the amplifier, so fit the holder close to the battery and rate the fuse at or below what the cable can carry. Match the fuse style to the holder before buying. Ring terminals must suit the cable gauge and the stud size, while quick-disconnect connectors are for speaker terminals and similar tabs. A vehicle-specific harness, such as a speaker adapter for a given Toyota, plugs into the factory connector and avoids cutting wires; items marked Universal rely on you to splice and solder or crimp each joint.
