Thermal Grizzly Kapton Insulation Sheets Yellow 50x 10x60mm
A pack of 50 yellow Kapton adhesive strips measuring 10 by 60 millimetres with a 40 µm thickness, electrically insulating to over 1 kV and rated for 280 °C
- Protects SMDs from liquid-metal shorts with 50 pre-cut Kapton strips
- Withstands 280 °C during rework thanks to polyamide film rated for extreme heat
- Electrically insulates at over 1 kV breakdown voltage per ASTM D149 standard
- Ultra-thin 40 µm layer adds negligible height to tight GPU or CPU stacks
- Clean adhesive surface first for reliable bond on 10 × 60 mm strips
Kapton insulation sheets for liquid-metal builds
These 50 yellow polyamide strips measure 10 by 60 millimetres and are 40 micrometres thick. They act as an assembly aid when applying electrically conductive thermal interface materials such as liquid metal. The film withstands temperatures up to 280 degrees Celsius and provides electrical insulation rated above 1 kilovolt breakdown voltage. Clean the mounting surface with isopropanol before application.
Single specification that decides fit
Each strip is exactly 10 millimetres wide and 60 millimetres long, so it only suits components or PCB areas that fit within those dimensions. If the SMDs or pads you need to mask are larger than 10 by 60 millimetres, these pre-cut sheets will not cover them. The 40 micrometre thickness adds minimal stack height but cannot be substituted for thicker insulating barriers.
What the bundle changes
The pack contains 50 individual adhesive strips grouped as ten sheets of five, giving enough pieces for multiple GPU or CPU applications without cutting custom shapes. Having pre-cut strips reduces the risk of shorting conductive TIM onto adjacent SMDs during assembly. No additional tools or software are included; the sheets are a pure consumable supply for thermal-interface masking.

Questions about this item
What does the 280 °C rating mean when the sheet is inside a PC?
The polyamide film remains stable up to 280 °C, so it will not melt or degrade even if the liquid-metal TIM runs hotter than typical CPU or GPU temperatures.
How does the 1 kV breakdown voltage protect components?
At over 1 kV breakdown and 8 kV per mm dielectric strength, the 40 µm layer blocks electrical shorts between the conductive TIM and nearby SMDs.
Will the 10 mm by 60 mm strips cover the SMDs around my CPU die?
Each of the 50 yellow strips measures 10 mm wide by 60 mm long, sized to mask small surface-mount components adjacent to the die.
