Dual-tower air cooler for 250 W TDP CPUs

The Thermaltake TOUGHAIR 710 is a dual-tower air cooler rated for 250 W TDP. It supports Intel sockets from LGA 1150 through LGA 1851 and AMD AM4 and AM5 platforms. Two 140 mm fans mount vertically on the heatsink and connect via 4-pin PWM headers. The unit stands 165 mm tall and uses a copper base with seven heat pipes in a grey finish.

Sustained-load behaviour with L.N.C. mode

Under continuous load the fans run between 500 and 1400 RPM, delivering 81.96 CFM per fan at 23.9 dB-A. Engaging the supplied Low-Noise Cable drops the range to 300–1100 RPM, reducing airflow to 65.03 CFM and noise to 18.5 dB-A. The dual-tower layout provides a larger dissipation area so temperatures stabilise during extended workloads rather than spiking in short bursts.

Clearance and mounting checks before ordering

Verify that your case allows at least 165 mm of cooler height and that the vertical fan orientation clears memory modules and VRM heatsinks. Confirm the motherboard socket matches the listed Intel or AMD platforms. Ensure a 4-pin PWM header is available for each fan or that a splitter can be used. The package includes the L.N.C. adapter for quieter operation.

Questions about this item

How loud is the TOUGHAIR 710 at full 1400 RPM and with the low-noise cable at 1100 RPM?

At the standard PWM range up to 1400 RPM the cooler produces 23.9 dB-A. With the low-noise cable limiting speed to 1100 RPM the noise drops to 18.5 dB-A.

Does the box include mounting hardware for an Intel LGA 1700 socket?

Yes, the cooler supports Intel LGA 1700 among its listed sockets, so the required brackets are included.

Will the 165 mm tall dual-tower fit alongside tall RAM modules on an AMD AM5 board?

The vertical fan-mount design lets you slide the fans up or down the fins, giving clearance for taller memory sticks on AM5.
