Mid-tower case for ATX and Micro-ATX builds

The Thermaltake Versa H21 CA-1B2-00M1NN-00 is a black SPCC mid-tower that accepts 12 x 9.6 ATX and 9.6 x 9.6 Micro-ATX motherboards. It is aimed at home-computer builders and gamers who want room for high-end hardware and expansion.

All-black interior with perforated mesh and dust

The front and top panels use perforated metal mesh to increase air intake while the included dust filters keep the interior clean. A bottom-mounted PSU position and raised foot-stands further assist airflow. Tool-free mechanisms on the three 5.25 bays and the three 3.5 or 2.5 internal bays simplify drive swaps.

Front I/O includes USB 3.0 and USB 2.0

The top-front panel provides one USB 3.0 port, one USB 2.0 port and audio jacks for headset and microphone. Seven expansion slots and a maximum graphics-card length of 315 mm give flexibility for long cards. A 120 mm rear fan is pre-installed and the rear supports a 120 mm radiator.

Questions about this item

Does the front USB 3.0 port run at the full 3.0 speed or is it limited by the internal header?

The front panel provides one USB 3.0 port; its practical speed depends on the motherboard header it connects to, typically a 19-pin USB 3.0 header for full performance.

What motherboard form factors fit the Versa H21 and what clearance is needed for the bottom-mounted PSU?

The case accepts ATX boards up to 12 x 9.6 inches and Micro ATX at 9.6 x 9.6 inches; the PSU mounts at the bottom with standard PS2 dimensions.

How do the tool-free drive bays work and which step do builders often miss when securing a 5.25-inch device?

The three external 5.25-inch bays use a tool-free latch; after sliding the drive in, the latch must be flipped fully closed or the drive can shift and disconnect.
