6V-24V DC circuit probe

This 6V to 24V DC circuit probe tests automotive electrical systems on cars, trucks, boats, trailers and motorcycles. It combines voltage, resistance, diode and continuity functions in one hand-held tool. The 10 ft test lead reaches the entire vehicle without repositioning the unit. Polarity LEDs show red for positive and green for negative contacts.

Sustained overload protection

An internal circuit breaker trips automatically when current exceeds 8 A and sounds a buzzer alert, preventing damage during prolonged testing. The LCD remains readable while the breaker is engaged so diagnosis can continue after the fault clears. Heat-resistant ABS housing withstands engine-bay temperatures during extended use. No cooling downtime is required between tests.

Simple connection, common pitfalls

Clamp the ground lead, then touch the probe to the circuit — no wire stripping or bridging needed. Reversing the ground clip gives false polarity readings, so verify the connection first. Corroded terminals can prevent the continuity beep; clean the contact point before concluding a circuit is open. The 10 ft cord can snag on moving parts if not routed clear of belts and fans.
