Adds four gigabit RJ45 ports over a PCIe 2.0 x4 slot and includes both high and low-profile brackets
This Thinkstar network card adds four Gigabit RJ45 ports through a single PCI-Express 2.0 x4 slot. It ships with both high and low profile brackets so it fits standard and slim chassis alike. The board is built around the Intel I350-T4V2 controller for reliable wired connectivity in Cisco UCSC environments.
Moving from a two port adapter to this quad port model doubles the available copper links without consuming another expansion slot. The step up makes sense when you need separate networks for management, storage, VM traffic and backup on one server. If your workload stays on one or two VLANs the extra ports will sit idle.
Choose the bracket that matches your chassis, fasten the two screws and seat the card in an x4 or wider PCIe slot. The most common issue is forgetting to remove the unused bracket before closing the case, which blocks adjacent slots. Driver support is standard in modern Linux and Windows kernels so no extra media is required.
