Ideal staircase lighting

Six warm-white LED units guide steps at night with automatic motion detection. The kit suits hallways, closets, bedrooms and bathrooms where low-level safety lighting is needed. Each light operates on three AAA batteries and mounts with adhesive pads or screws for hard-wire-free placement.

Motion-activated behaviour

A 120-degree sensor triggers at up to 10 feet once darkness is detected, illuminating for 20 to 25 seconds before switching off after 20 seconds of inactivity. This cycle repeats reliably under sustained night-time traffic without manual intervention. Battery life reaches approximately one year per set under typical use.

Thermals and power draw

LED emitters produce minimal heat during the brief activation windows, keeping the acrylic housing cool to the touch. The 4.5-volt, 27-watt total system draw is spread across six independent battery-powered modules, so no mains wiring or transformer warmth is involved. Silent solid-state operation adds no audible noise.

Questions about this item

How much power does the six-light set draw when every unit is on?

The kit is rated at 27 watts total electrical usage when all six lights are illuminated.

What batteries must I supply before the lights will operate?

Each unit requires three AAA batteries, which are not included in the package.

Will the 120-degree motion sensor still trigger if I mount a light above an existing handrail?

The sensor covers a 120-degree detection angle and a 10-foot range, so a handrail will not block activation as long as movement passes through that zone.
